Module 1: Introduction to Photoshop
This module is designed for users needing basic image manipulation techniques for desktop publishing.
Content: Types of images, resolution, colour bit depth, file sizes, setting up your PC or Mac, the tools, basic image manipulation, introduction to retouching, adding text.
Basic colour management.

Module 2: Imaging
Colour management basics for press.
Backgrounds, painting and editing, duplicating and reverting images, photographic restoration, selections and paths, clipping paths, filling and stroking, gradient fills, custom gradations. RGB, CMYK and HSL colour spaces.
Text effects, the type tool, masks, type masks.
File formats : TIFF, EPS, PDF, PSD

Module 3: Advanced Pre-press
Gradient masks, layer masks, colour range masks, layers, linking layers, transparency, vector graphics, rasterisation.
Actions, batch processing.
Layer combination with multiplication etc.
Colour systems, spot colour, duotones, tritones, colour separations.
Compund paths and clipping paths

Module 4: Photoshop 6 Upgrade:
A special course for operators at all levels needing to upgrade from previous versions of Photoshop to the latest version. Vector graphics and colour management issues included.
